Call it a masterpiece or a work of art. Both apply. I rate the game as five stars out of five.
Remedy deserves all the praise I can muster for being brave enough to make some exciting design choices that limit Alan Wake 2's mass appeal, but increase the enjoyment for those of us who remain. They deserve for me to call this game what I think it is - a masterpiece.

13 years since its predecessor, Alan Wake 2 was absolutely
worth the wait. Improving on the original in every way, with Remedy
embracing their inspirations, and honing their craft, Alan Wake 2 is a
surrealist horror masterpiece.
An expertly crafted narrative and two fascinating main characters make for a lovingly crafted sequel that is well and truly worth the 13-year wait.
Alan Wake 2 is the best Remedy Entertainment game, and is a strong contender for one of the best games of 2023.
Alan Wake 2 is a creative, atmospheric story highlight, but from a technical point of view it gives you little nightmares on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
I adored the first Alan Wake, and I’ve either loved or liked every Remedy game since then. This is the first time I’ve felt so displeased by the studio’s work I’ve actually been angry about it. The pompous writing, the shoehorned mechanics that push a tiresome narrative conceit over the quality of the narrative itself, the archaic combat, the amount of time it spends doing almost nothing, Alan Wake 2 is fucking insufferable most of the time...It’s impossible to tell where the stylistically bad writing of the title character ends and the inadvertently bad game of Alan Wake 2 begins. The difference, at this point, matters not.
This game is outstanding! Im a writer and this game resume how a block worx, and the nightmare behind that generates. I think that this game is 10 times better of BG3, and with DLCs is just awesome. Remedy after Control was lacking of titles. But this game is **** amazing and i love it.
Reminds me a lot of RE4 days

I played the game for 10 hours and then couldn't finish it. The style and concepts in the game were cool but it tried so hard to be abstract that the story dissolved away. The level design and problem solving were good but the gun play and survival elements were mediocre. Overall, Alan Wake 2 was a game that I wanted like but just didn't enjoy playing.

Game was just ok. Some parts are to drawn out and repetitive. Heavy on the jump scares with screen flashes. I actually enjoyed the Saga story line more than Alan Wakes. There is a sprinkle of Sweet Baby Inc.'s racist remark about "white ****" that really throws it off for me. So much so that I hateto create an account just to rate this game.

I found the first Alan Wake a bit boring but I still completed it. I hoped this would be better but I was wrong. This is even worse. Twisted story, banal, difficult to understand, and quite pointless. awful gameplay, you will be asking "Where tf am I" and "How tf I can proceed" most of the time. Fights are boring and very old-style.
Nice visuals, sounds, and music. Not enough save this game btw. I won't buy the DLC, I'm done with this game forever.
