There are few video games released this year that you simply cannot miss, Call of Duty: Black Ops is one of them.
The total amount of worthwhile content makes paying full price for most other games feel like a crime. Treyarch has closed the gap between its games and the Modern Warfare franchise with boundless customization, a keen sense of what makes the formula a success, and listening to fans. You won't regret answering the call once again.

Dude, this game is just....AMAZING! Finally, COD has reached its peak here. The campaign is awesome (not quite as good as MW2 but still a good contender), the Zombies is by far the best I've ever played (not even questionable), and the multiplayer isn't broken at all plus just as fun. This game is near perfect in my eyes and deserves the perfect 10/10 score for defining my teenage years in one game. Quite possibly my top 5 favorite video game of all time.

This is Treyarchs Masterpiece! It may not blow you away like Modern Warfare did back at its time, but it shure as hell is an intense shooter-experience with a multiplayer-part, that will keep you busy for months!

Black Ops is another game that shows why the Call of Duty franchise continues its stranglehold over the shooter genre.
The campaign is relentlessly aggressive and spectacular – a Jerry Bruckheimer tribute act stuck in permanent encore – while the multiplayer modes are a mixture of smart tweaks to working formulas, as focused on protecting that guaranteed bottom line as the campaign's yellow objective cursor is on making sure you never falter.
There are games that deserve to be relegated to the bargain bin, or played when there's simply nothing else on the shelf. This is one of them. It's not broken, it's just bad.
I had such an awesome time laying this with the boys back in the day. I know everyone usually preferred modern warfare but black ops was the most fun ever had playing a COD.

I would love to say that Black Ops was my favorite COD game. It has my personal favorite setting for a COD game, a story on par with Hollywood action thrillers and in my opinion the best new Zombie maps (Call of the Dead best zombies map). Where Black Ops fails for me was the multiplayer system. Needed both a level requirement and a currency system to unlock guns, perks or equipment was really annoying, I'm not a massive fan of grinding in video games when the grind is boring.

I am someone who went straight from CoD 4 to Black Ops, and let me tell ya, this game is TERRIBLE.
Call of Duty: Black Ops is VERY repetitive and takes no skill. The developers did not try at all to add variety to the game. It got so boring.

Just bought this for £10 & what a waste of money, horrible gameplay , unimaginative ways of making the game hard (infinite enemy spawns, grenade spam etc) all meaning you cannot use your own strategy to beat it , I should have learned my lesson from waw... no more cod for me.
