I can’t understand the point of StarCraft: Remastered. I see that it’s much prettier, and people with high-res displays will be able to run it in all its glory. The problem is that there is no real glory, and the one that’s left exists only in the minds of the people that played the original. It’s not a particularly bad remastering of a cult game, but it’s almost futile.
If you’re looking to re-experience the original StarCraft in a new super-polished form, then I’d definitely recommend jumping into StarCraft Remastered.
Starcraft: Remastered is a great but somewhat superfluous upgrade with the original game still being supported and free to play at that. Still it´s hard to fault anyone for wanting to enjoy this versions upgraded sound and graphics since the price point is so low. Starcraft is still fantastic but the remaster it´s more of a thing for pros and nostalgia than for a new set of players.
The game holds up pretty nicely, it's still a solid RTS after all these years ... but was the pathing always so bad? It's infuriating!

Shameless cash grab. All they have done is give the graphics a lick of paint. Stuff like path-finding is still horrendous. Feels like your fighting the game not your opponent. Not fun.
Unfortunately the enhanced edition is not nearly as good as the original, even it seems like it only focuses on graphics.
When units move and rotate and change their sprites according to orientation it feels as if the different angles are misaligned and this makes them seem to move in a very choppy fashion.
There is an odd lack of quality in the aesthetics of units and buildings, it does not reflect the usual quality you expect from blizzard by far.
Even though this should not be a demanding game in terms of performance there are constant performance spikes and choppy game play. Mixed with the issue above this makes for an unpleasant experience.
The scaling of the units on screen is too large. I understand that if the screen res was higher, units and buildings smaller and therefore more of the map visible on screen then this affect game play. Unfortunately the way it is units just seem massive.
It's not worth your money, this pack changes the original Starcraft into what feels like a seriously inferior RTS from the 90s. One you would find from a PC mag's demo disk and play out of politeness.
Its appeal is entirely its relation to the original version.
SummaryStarCraft®: Remastered upgrades the essential sci-fi strategy experience from beginning to end. Welcome back to the original game and its award-winning expansion, StarCraft: Brood War.
