Since the film has a loose storyline, it allows the comedy to shine. We are even treated to an awkward dance scene at the film’s end. Gordon and Abel emulate the humor of great slapstick comedians in their own unique way. If quirky comedy is up your alley, check it out.

What one will remember from The Falling Star are small things. The way characters get into cars or attempt to fall asleep. The way they pour beer or run from gunfire. For this writer, the small things do not add up to quite enough. Yet when it’s funny, it is really funny.

The Falling Star offers little in the way of dramatic tension or intrigue, and its comedy, mildly clever at first, starts to feel repetitive. The word “tedious” popped into my mind a few times, perhaps because the world of the film is so small that it starts to feel airless and lacking in surprise.
