Raiders of the Lost Ark, the first in the series from Hollywood's own golden idols George Lucas and Steven Spielberg, is still the strongest by far and remains a thoroughly rousing and nostalgic delight to return to.
Raiders of the Lost Ark is, in fact, about as entertaining as a commercial movie can be. What is it? An adventure film that plays like an old-time 12-part serial that you see all at once, instead of Saturday-to-Saturday. It's a modern "Thief of Baghdad." It's the kind of movie that first got you excited about movies when you were a kid.

A review approachth from yonder near currently. I probably won't give a full review to The Super Mario Bros Movie though, because my rating was based off my first watch, and I have no ambition to revisit that film anytime soon. Andor, Solo, and Revenge of the Sith are up next.

Как же иначе? Особенно впечатляет один из эффектов в конце, когда нацистский шпион будто превращается в акварель. Этот эффект до сих пор поражает воображение.
Звук: В нужные моменты звучит разнообразная музыка, и особенно запоминается знаменитая мелодия «The Raiders March». Удивительно, как можно было создать такую композицию, которая узнаётся с первых же нот! Остальные композиции тоже заслуживают внимания, хоть и не так известны. В них также присутствуют элементы, роднящие их с главной темой, а музыкальное сопровождение, хоть и не является музыкальным спектаклем, остаётся на высоте.
Персонажи: Даже по одной лишь шляпе и хлысту можно безошибочно узнать атрибуты знаменитого археолога. Главный герой — археолог, Профессор Джонс постоянно оказывается на грани жизни и смерти, однако он не спешит использовать оружие, предпочитая полагаться на силу своих кулаков, хлыст и смекалку. Как и у любого человека, у него есть страхи, он боится змей. Его давняя знакомая Мэрион, в которую он влюбился 10 лет назад, является его опорой и поддержкой. Рене Беллок, археолог-соперник, а также другие друзья и враги — некоторые из них встретятся в следующих странствиях Инди.
Сюжет: Фильм развивается параллельно с его декорациями: мы видим множество различных мест и персонажей, которые противостоят друг другу. Иногда кажется, что одна из сторон близка к победе, но в последний момент вмешивается другая, и действие продолжается. И что самое важное — всё это происходит органично, и в это действительно веришь. В основе сюжет фильма — моя любимая тема: раскопки в Египте. В то время было найдено множество интересных артефактов, тут же всех интересует Ковчег Завета, в котором хранились каменные скрижали с десятью заповедями. Я наслышан об этом артефакте иудеев, но сам процесс его поиска был не менее увлекательным. Чтобы найти Ковчег, героям пришлось преодолеть не лёгкий путь.
Итог: Этот фильм — настоящая классика, и я ещё не встречал человека, который бы не слышал о приключениях Индиана Джонса. В детстве этот фильм оказал на меня большое влияние. Я мечтал стать археологом, но, к сожалению, жизненные обстоятельства сложились иначе. Однако это желание отразилось на моей любви к истории, и я всегда был готов к новым открытиям. Фильм наполнен динамичными сценами, ведь это приключенческий боевик с элементами комедии. На первый взгляд, сочетание может показаться не самым удачным, но на самом деле это мощная смесь. Я пересматривал его множество раз, но каждый раз нахожу в нём что-то новое и интересное. А некоторые сцены до сих пор вызывают у меня улыбку.

Raiders of the Lost Ark (at the Eglinton) is a cinematic roller-coaster, thrilling and frightening in equal measure, a heart-pounding slide down greased lightning. [12 June 1981]
Travels fast and straight down a linear plot, and the ceaseless rush quickly becomes monotonous.
Raiders of the Lost Ark. The beginning of the adventures of the most famous archaeologist. Harrison Ford brilliantly showed the later cult character - Indiana Jones. He is brave, a little arrogant, adventurous and very bold and always has his hat and whip with him. The plot of the film itself is very interesting and almost from the very beginning captures all attention. There are beautiful views of the desert, eastern cities, a little magic and of course evil ****, but Indiana Jones, thanks to his courage and recklessness, will save this world. The title music also deserves a big applause, this melody will sit in the heads of movie lovers for a long time.

This is better than Temple of Doom, by a mile, but it falls very short of the perfect Last Crusade.
It's an interesting start. It's a shame that Temple of Doom had to ruin it. The series would be fine without the second film.

This movie was just about what I expected in some ways but unfortunately it didn't live up to the hype in others. First with the good stuff, it was exactly what I thought in terms of actions sequences, whip cracks, and archeological hunts. Those things were the strong elements of the film in my opinion. There were also plenty of funny scenes and the effects, while terrible in today's standards, were pretty darn good for a 30+ year-old film. The reason I rated this movie so low, however, is for the few negative parts. Things like the fact that the Indiana Jones character might be the dumbest protagonist in action film history for example. Or the corny scenes that mar so many films of that era. I honestly don't know what people were thinking back then to enjoy such tomfoolery. The other things that hurt the film weren't as major. The mystical/supernatural element was unfortunate but that's more of a personal thing. I tend to zone out when ridiculous stuff comes on the screen in supposedly realistic settings. The acting also wasn't great but it wasn't all that bad either. I was disappointed though in the lack of charisma from Harrison Ford during the movie. The same guy who managed to turn a **** bag smuggler into a fan favorite didn't have much opportunity to do the same here. I mainly blame the writing and directing. Still, the movie was enjoyable and I look forward to seeing the next two being that I've heard the series gets substantially better after the first one.

Was never into the Indy series as a youth, first made a few years before I was born. Seeing it in my late 30s confirmed my hunch it wasn’t good. You strip away the big names (Spielberg, Ford, Lucas and John Williams) and you have a very campy and terrible movie.
The dialogue is awful, the pacing is all over the place and it definitely doesn’t warrant a 2 hour run time.
