Another Crab’s Treasure is a Soulslike but for fans and newcomers to the series alike, creating a hilarious, exciting nautical knightly adventure for audiences of all ages.
The game combines the creativity of its improvisation mechanics and challenging soulslike combat in a humorous underwater world, though it sometimes lacks enemy design refinement. Its accessibility options enhance playability and the artistic design is rich in detail, making the overall experience engaging and unique.
This is one of the most delightful games I've ever played. It turns the souslike genre into something more accessible without making it trivial. The world is bursting with creativity from every boss, shell, and location. The characters are enjoyable, the story is satisfying, and the message is heartfelt. Not to mention the fact that this is one of the funniest games I've played in a long time. A few bugs here and there did nothing to hurt my enjoyment. And the accessibility settings make it so that gamers of any skill level can enjoy themselves.
Overall, despite the few tweaks that could make Another Crab’s Treasure that much more enjoyable, it's a solid and innovative Soulslike option. Another Crab’s Treasure is a welcome addition to a genre that often doesn't feel the most accessible. The changes Kril will go through will have players reflecting on their own lives in a way they never expected, as one tiny hermit crab proves that sometimes it's worth evaluating the world around you and wondering, are you really okay with things as they are?
Another Crab’s Treasure is one of my favorite soulslikes in quite some time. It borrows a lot from the usual genre playbook, but adds a colorful, irresistibly charming, and wholly unique veneer that makes it all feel brand spanking new. The story is well-written and filled with memorable moments and characters, the shell-swapping mechanic is unique and adorable as heck, and the unrelentingly cheerful mood is like finding land after years adrift in an angsty sea of Bloodborne imitators. Its combat isn’t the deepest ocean around and it has a bit of jank here and there, but Another Crab’s Treasure is so clever and wonderfully ridiculous that it’s absolutely worth your time.
With more polish, Another Crab’s Treasure might have been an all-time indie gem. Its sometimes tedious physics and less-balanced early bosses don’t overshadow the game’s beautiful world, creative levels, sincere cast, and thoughtful themes, but do pollute the otherwise sparkling water.
Despite a few downsides, I thoroughly enjoyed my time playing Another Crab's Treasure. The game's humor was a standout feature that had me laughing out loud on several occasions. As a fan of soulslike experiences, I can confidently say that it's one of the few AA games that's truly worth playing through. What's more, it's incredibly accessible to play, making it a great entry point for newcomers to the genre.
Another Crab's Treasure is the greatest soulslike of all time. Another Crab's Treasure is better than Elden Ring. Now that I've made you mad, let me explain. At the most basic level, the gameplay is really good. The nuances of how blocking and parrying work in this game make the gameplay both extremely good and refreshingly different from other soulslikes, though not super-different. But what really sets the game apart from other soulslike games, and elevates it above the others, is the writing and overall vibe. Demon's Souls and the Dark Souls games were amazing because their gameplay was amazing, and so lots of other games copied them, and in addition to copying their amazing gameplay they also copied their bad writing and dark, somewhat morbid overall vibe. Another Crab's Treasure replaces that with amazing writing that is often profoundly moving and is regularly very funny, and an overall vibe that is extremely chill and fun. Just because you're engaging in really challenging combat doesn't mean you can't fight while vibing hard to really awesome, chill, upbeat music. That's one of the big things that sets Another Crab's Treasure apart. Fromsoft soulslikes think that challenging combat needs to be treated as a dark, morbid affair; Another Crab's Treasure realizes that it can be treated as a chill, fun activity, and it can in fact be accompanied by great writing.
Great game. It is not really a soulslike, but core mechanics were defined here be this predecessor. There are new gameplay mechanics as well. Music, sarcastic story turning out to be much deeper than it seems in the beginning, gameplay are good and together earn additional point from me. Another point is awarded for unique design which is really satisfying and feets sarcastic environment. The game was developed with love and you feel it in many aspects.
A souls-like platforming adventure that takes place in a trash ridden ocean.
Game has great music and solid environments, and is very accessible for any type of players. Not a perfect experience all the way through, and has some grating moments, but after everything it's still a well produced game that's fun!
Another overrated product. Janky and packedto the brim with cheap deaths. Certainly not the worst game of the year, but a regrettable purchase for me. This is game development moving backwards.
