Overall, Death of the Outsider ties up the first arc of Dishonored nicely; I have no idea where it’s going to go next, and all I can do is pray that Arkane don’t call it a day, because I adore this series. All other issues seem trivial in the face of it being such a well-crafted piece of art, and my main complaint is that there simply isn't enough of it. I adore this series, and this game. Buy it, play it, and love it.
Death of the Outsider is smaller, more focused standalone expansion that eschews some of the series’ superfluous mainstays to deliver a core, action-stealth experience. If this is the end for Dishonored, then it’s gone out in style.

As usual, perfect work Arkane. Game graphics look perfect at the moment. Obviously, the gameplay is still fascinating, as it was in the other parts. The story is a conclusion of dishonored, and I highly recommend to escape this part, if you have escaped two others.

Clearly not a dlc with such an amount of time to complete it. Truly loved it as it completes the game story and provides once more the freedom to end the story differently. The dishonored series is my favorite game trilogy for the ps4, originality at it's finest. If you love stealth, freedom of choice, art style and dark elements this is for you.

Death of the Outsider is a mature and highly polished spin on the core Dishonored formula. It tries new things and mostly succeeds, and it's a must-play for fans of the franchise. While it's nice that it exists as a standalone title, it shouldn't be the first Dishonored game you play.
Death of the Outsider has neither the out-of-this-world level design nor the masterful story writing of Dishonored 2, but it does not fail to impress as it offers a true Dishonored experience and a satisfying closure to the “Kaldwin Era”.
The Dishonored saga comes to an elegant, if not entirely satisfying, end with a spin-off adventure that is almost as good as its full price predecessor.
Death of the Outsider uses a smaller scale to create a game that offers up its rewards quicker but without diminishing their payoff.
Considering it is a less ambitious game than the two previous Dishonored, I think this is actually very good: nice story (especially if you are a Dishonored fan) and similar gameplay to that of Dishonored 2, which is the best of the three games in my opinion. Frankly, I prefer Death of the Outsider to the first Dishonored.

Dishonored - Death of the Outsider tries to answer Dishonored’s biggest open question, with middling success.
It is probably fair to call Death of the Outsider a DLC pack for Dishonored 2 thater than the Stand-Alone-Expansion it is. The engine is the same, the art direction and soundscape are similarly excellent, at least one of the maps in Dishonored 2 is blatantly reused… It’s only in its finale that DotO steps out of the shadow of its predecessor for a bit.
When it comes to the game mechanics, innovation is similarly hard to come by, which to my mind is a point against the title. Billie Lurk, ascended from bit player to deuteragonist to player character over the course of the franchise, has gotten the eldritch power economy package: A new flavor of Blink, an Impersonate power and astral projection. Every one of these feel powerful and necessary, something that couldn’t always be said of all the powers of the main game, but this less definitely doesn’t feel like more. The more mundane game systems are unchanged. The one thing that is added is a more formal system for side quest acquisition: They are actual contracts you get handed at the local blackmarket.
These side quests provide quite a bit of engagement, as does the primary gameplay loop, even if it’s mostly just more of the same. The maps are very open-ended and allow for even more player expression than Dishonored 2 did, but in the end my impression boils down to: More of the same, with added polish.
The one card that DotO has to play to entice is, of course, the main plot. Which, for me, fell flat. It started strong, with a harrowing discovery, a reunion with an old franchise mainstay character and ever stronger Lovecraft influences, but the second act pushes these horror influences to the side for too long and the end is crushed under the weight of expectations. I didn’t really connect with Billy Lurk as my protagonist either. She didn’t really have an arc, and she’s mostly alone during the game, so she can’t even bounce off other characters in interesting ways, either. So when it comes to story and characters, DotO isn’t bad, but it is stuck in meh territory.
I did enjoy myself with the game enough to see it through to the end, but after two main titles and three expansions, the Dishonored franchise really is ripe for a general overhaul. Death of the Outsider is a fine video game, but it is missing originality.
TLDR: This expansion has some of the finest levels in the Dishonored franchise, and plays just as well as Dishonored 2. If you want more Dishonored 2, then, you won’t regret picking it up. If you crave something fresh with the Dishonored vibe, look elsewhere.

I didn't like repetitive locations but overall DLC is very good. The ending is very interesting. I liked there it didn't have morality so you can play as you want

Essentially just an expansion to Dishonored 2. It can be fun just like the other Dishonored titles and fans of the series will probably like it but it's a little egregious how much content and assets are reused from Dishonored 2.

Less than the sum of its parts....
With the series in full swing after two solid games, the decision to expand this DLC into a stand alone release seemed like a decent **** its just not worth your time or the extra price.
Everything about D:DOTO seems hugely lackluster compared to the two main titles. The writing is weak, the game play is far less nuanced and choices you got used to in Dishonored 2 have been removed.
Now maybe you arent a big Dishonored fan and wont miss the game play from Dishonored 2 because you didnt play it......well, i would definitely tell you to avoid D:DOTO because you will be lost. You are expected to know a lot of background info you could only have gotten from playing Dishonored 1 & 2.
Characters that have been subtly fleshed out over the coarse of the franchise suddenly act in ways that seem **** looking at you Mr. Outsider....
The main character, who could have been an interesting protagonist, just wasnt.
Overall, its just a far inferior version of Dishonored. It would have been better off being made into a smaller, more focused, less expensive DLC.
Save your money and either wait for a super sale, or until the inevitable "Game of the Year" edition Dishonored 2, which includes D:DOTO.
