If you are more of a single player gamer like me, don’t let the online nature of Fallout 76 put you off… it’s eminently playable as a single player experience. If you are put off by the issues mentioned at the start then maybe steer clear (or at least wait to see if patches address your concerns), otherwise I’d say grab the Deathclaw by the horns and jump in (but maybe wait till you have powerarmour to do that.).
Fallout 76 retains the same captivating immersion, atmosphere and organic exploration that made Fallout 4 so enjoyable thanks to an excellent open world, though you’ll have to contend with a poorly implemented online component and the typical Bethesda technical hiccups and rough edges.
Alright, this game gets a lot of ****, and rightly so. But my irrational love for this game places it within my top three favorite games of all time. The building system is unmatched across all of the Fallout games. The atmosphere, special events, cosmetics, and exploration are all what keeps me coming back.
Me encanta la forma en la que ha evolucionado este juego en el transcurso del tiempo, las misiones son entretenidas y la exploración no se diga, merece un mejor puesto.
It’s easy to be critical with Fallout 76. The flaws are so easy to see that it has every single chance to be this year’s best meme in gaming. But if you enjoy multiplayer experiences with plenty of loot and a great leveling system, you can have a nice time cleaning up its radioactive wilderness.
Fallout 76 meant to change the very concept of the series, but turned out to be a complete disaster. The game is not only boring and empty, but sometimes simply unplayable.
After the first few hours of Fallout 76, you can expect a lot of the same mission types over and over again. Playing with friends is ideal, but it cannot overcome the constant repetition. Base-building and undiscovered locations serve to be the best portions of this radioactive mess.
Fallout 76’s mundane quest and lifeless story put too much weight on the aged combat and trivial crafting for them to bear. It’s a multiplayer experiment with far too many flaws to put up with, both in its limiting player interactions and its woeful technical polish. Fallout with friends is still an idea that could work one, but that’s not what Fallout 76 is serving up.
I dreaded every hour I had to keep playing Fallout 76 for review. As soon as the game was beginning to teeter on fun or interesting, a bug or a frustrating gameplay design element would quickly remind me that the game was otherwise.
7 for the game itself, 1 for Bethesda's handling of it.
This game is far from perfect but gets far more hate than it deserves from ridiculous expectations. Just look at the reviews. "It's too hard" "It's too easy" "This MULTIPLAYER game gets boring without friends"
It was and still is a solid game, but what really hurt it was Bethesda's knee-jerk reactions to cheaters at launch throwing massive nerfs across all weapons across the board hurting legitimate players too. If they'd have just patched the duping exploit, left the rest alone and focused on server capacity this game would be remembered with far less vitriol.
Once it loses its player base that's it for a multiplayer game and it's sad because it COULD have been so much better if Bethesda had handled it better. The game is worth playing today but don't expect a lot with it's low player count. If you have someone to play with you'll get a lot more mileage and can have a lot of fun.
I consider myself a small fan of Bethesda 3D games. I played TES 3, 4, 5. I spent about a thousand hours in Skyrim. In Fallout 3, NV, 4, there are several hundred in each. Even in Starfield, I played for almost 100 hours.
But the F76 didn't interest me.
I see a lot of people playing the game with very high levels and I'm jealous that they like this game. Maybe you will like it too! Don't give up on her right away because of my words.
From the good in the game: The community, the guys really help newcomers with resources, items and money. Good storytelling of locations.
From the bad: Bugs. I'm really surprised that the game is so old and some doors don't open the first time in the initial quests and you literally have to re-enter the location / game several times. Moreover, complaints about these problems are written ANNUALLY! The level design made me run around locations for 10+ minutes in search of a door, as I thought it might be another bug with a door that doesn't want to open. But no, the door was just dark and unnoticeable in the depths of the wall.
I may be an idiot, but honestly, it was easier for me to navigate in Morrowind than **** some reason, quests were also not interesting to me at all 95% of the time.
Separately, I will say that the Microsoft Store and Xbox App are crap with frequent errors when downloading. The support is poor. You are more likely to find the right answer from the community than from official support.
I tried playing this on my PS4 at launch with about 20 hours of play and it was pretty unbearably bad , typical bethesda. Then after the Fallout TV show launched in April 2024, I tried the game again for another 20 hours or so, and its much much better. However overall the game feels bland, empty and without friends the solo exsperiance is pretty bad. I did not enjoy the overall gameplay loop, the story was pretty meh, and it focused much like fallout4 on being a shooter first, rpg 2nd, which I too did not enjoy. Overall I could see someone realistically rating this a 6/10 if this game is for you, but for me it is not and I give it a solid 4/10, and I probably will not be coming back to it.
