While critics at Cannes certainly found the film messy at times (or even all of the time), some also found it exhilarating, and the female ensemble shared the fest's Best Actress award. tbd	Dune: Prophecy Trailer Drama/Sci-fi: Once an HBO Max (then Max) original called Dune: Sisterhood (when it was first ordered to series five years ago), this TV series prequel to Denis Villeneuve's recent big-screen Dune franchise reboot now bears the HBO brand and the title you see above. Villeneuve was once set to direct the series—based on the 2012 novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson—as well but is no longer directly involved in the project, nor is much of the original creative team (or, for that matter, the second version of the creative team). Set 10,000 years before the events of the films, Prophecy is now under the guidance of former Westworld executive producer Alison Schapker and stars Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Jodhi May, Travis Fimmel, and Mark Strong. Samuel L. Jackson (who, like John David Washington, recently starred in the play on Broadway), Ray Fisher, Michael Potts, Danielle Deadwyler, Corey Hawkins, and Erykah Badu also star in the 1936 Pittsburgh-set drama that finds a family divided over the fate of a damaged heirloom piano. Daredevil: Born Again Drama: It may be another Disney+ MCU series, but it's also a continuation of Netflix's Daredevil, with Charlie Cox back as the blind lawyer turned vigilante Matt Murdock/Daredevil. Other familiar faces from that previous show as well as other MCU properties include Vincent D'Onofrio (again playing Wilson Fisk/Kingpin), Jon Bernthal (Frank Castle/Punisher), and Ayelet Zurer (Vanessa Marianna-Fisk), while newcomers include Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, and Clark Johnson (with the latter also directing several episodes). The nine-episode first season launches with today's opener directed by Aaron Moorhead & Justin Benson (Loki), and the series has already been renewed for a second season. That may sound promising, but Born Again was a difficult project to get going, and Disney opted to overhaul the series under new writers and a new showrunner (Dario Scardapane, who wrote for the Netflix Daredevil series) after the first six episodes were filmed.

The Electric State Trailer Action-adventure/Comedy: In an alternate, dystopian version of 1990s America, Millie Bobby Brown plays an orphaned teenager who sets out on a road trip with a robot (voiced by Alan Tudyk) to search for a brother she thought dead in this adaptation of a Simon Stålenhag graphic novel directed by the Russo brothers. Chris Pratt, Anthony Mackie, Ke Huy Quan, Jason Alexander, Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson, Brian Cox, Jenny Slate, and Giancarlo Esposito also star.

Wolf Hall: The Mirror and the Light Trailer Drama: Airing on Masterpiece, the sequel to the excellent 2015 historical drama Wolf Hall adapts the final novel in Hilary Mantel's trilogy and picks up where the previous show ended (in 1536, just following the death of Anne Boleyn). Mark Rylance returns from the first series as Thomas Cromwell, as does Damian Lewis (as King Henry VIII), Jonathan Pryce, Kate Phillips, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, and Lilit Lesser, among others. They are joined by Harriet Walter and Timothy Spall.

Ironheart Drama: The first TV series created by poet and screenwriter Chinaka Hodge (Snowpiercer, The Midnight Club) is also the latest small-screen entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Dominique Thorne returns from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever as Riri Williams/Ironheart, an inventor, teenage prodigy, MIT student, and Iron Man fan who now returns home to Chicago where she builds her own powerful armored suit and becomes entangled with Parker Robbins/The Hood (Anthony Ramos). The six-episode series also stars Alden Ehrenreich and Lyric Ross, while guest stars include Sacha Baron Cohen and Jim Rash.

Eyes of Wakanda Animation: Marvel's latest animated series is both a Black Panther prequel and the first TV show included in Phase 6 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (which just kicked off with a theatrical Fantastic Four reboot). Running just four episodes, this first (and only?) season of the anthology-style series follows various Wakandan warriors who have been given the tricky job of traveling the world to recover Vibranium artifacts at various points in history.
