Starfield is an epic work of science fiction wonder and is a true Bethesda RPG at its heart. The world is expansive, and the main story and all the side-quests are brilliantly crafted. The game looks amazing, has an incredible score, and will genuinely wow you with the galaxy's vastness you can explore. If you’ve ever looked to the stars and wondered ‘what if’… this is a game you must play. It isn’t just for Bethesda fans.
Starfield for me is very easily the game of the year, it would take something phenomenal to knock it off the top. Is it perfect? Not by any means, there are bugs and exploits to see but you have to go out of your way to do so, albeit to the detriment of your own experience. I think calling it Fallout in Space with Mass Effect tones and elements of No Man’s Sky is a cheap description. I think this is the massive space adventure we have needed and I am addicted to it and with so much content I feel very spoilt. It is so much fun and an RPG lovers fantasy to explore and I cannot recommend it enough.
A Stellar Experience
Bethesda has delivered a truly remarkable sci-fi RPG with Starfield, creating a universe that is both expansive and deeply engaging. From its immersive storytelling to the sheer scale of exploration, Starfield stands out as one of the most ambitious games of recent years. Here’s why it’s a must-play:
1. Immersive Galactic Exploration
The vastness of Starfield’s universe is awe-inspiring. Each planet offers something new, from rich environments and alien landscapes to intriguing secrets and unexpected discoveries. Exploration is both satisfying and rewarding, making each journey feel fresh and full of potential.
2. Engaging Storyline and Characters
The narrative is filled with memorable characters, intriguing factions, and compelling plotlines. Bethesda has masterfully crafted a universe rich with lore, where your decisions shape not only the story but also the world around you. It’s a dynamic experience that keeps you invested throughout.
3. Unmatched Freedom and Customization
Starfield provides an incredible level of freedom, allowing you to play how you want. Whether you’re focusing on space exploration, building outposts, trading, or combat, the game adapts to your playstyle. The customization options for ships, characters, and equipment are diverse, adding layers of personalization to the experience.
4. Stunning Visuals and Atmosphere
Visually, Starfield is breathtaking. The game’s design, from the smallest details of ship interiors to the grand, starry vistas of space, is beautifully crafted. Each location feels alive, making the universe more immersive and engaging.
5. Polished Gameplay Mechanics
Combat is fluid and varied, with plenty of options to fit different playstyles. Whether you’re engaging in space dogfights, ground skirmishes, or stealth missions, the gameplay feels responsive and rewarding. The addition of outpost building and resource management adds strategic depth.
6. Endless Replay Value
With hundreds of planets to explore, diverse factions to join, and countless missions to undertake, Starfield offers hundreds of hours of gameplay. Each playthrough can be different, thanks to the game’s responsive world and branching storylines. There’s always something new to discover.
Final Verdict
Starfield is an impressive achievement in the RPG genre, combining freedom, exploration, and storytelling in a truly compelling way. It’s an expansive, engaging adventure that keeps players coming back for more. Bethesda has once again set a new standard for what an open-world RPG can be.
Starfield is a must-play for Sci-Fi and RPG fans alike.
Achievement-wise, this game is clearly going to take some time, and that can only be a good thing considering that Starfield seems to have delivered what it promised: an almost endless adventure we’ll still be discovering new details about years down the line.
There are simply few games that offer this huge quantity of content, but also back it up with quality. Timeless classics like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4 feel downright limited by comparison, yet share that wonderful sense of adventure waiting around every corner. Trust me when I say you don't want to miss this.
In Starfield, this blend and culmination of ideas sometimes pays off in wonderful ways — but sometimes it falls short, because pushing too far in one direction would mean committing to an idea. Consequences.
It's the static and mechanical elements of Starfield that shine the brightest – the art, the environments, the combat systems. They make up the strong foundations of a playset with a very intriguing scenario. But you need to mentally meet Starfield partway to complete its vision of a vast, living universe. You need to stretch out the expanse and envision the journey. You need to look past the menus and form the fantasy. You need to help breathe life into its paper dolls. You need to add your own dash of wonder, and imagine your own unknowns. Truly, Starfield is a role-playing game, through and through.
If you’re the kind of person who thinks videogames peaked with Fallout 3's launch version and they’ve required neither evolution nor improvement since, this game is absolutely for you. If you believe Bethesda doesn’t need to exhibit growth as an artistic outlet and hasn’t had to change a thing about the way it’s made games since 2008, I can safely say you’ll adore Starfield because it’s all that a Bethesda game has always been... and literally nothing more...Starfield is a shallow ocean, hiding its lack of creative ambition behind the physical size of a universe that’s minuscule where it counts...In short, it's everything a fan of these games could love.
Is this game perfect, no. Is it fun, yes. Am I glad I played it, yes. Would I but a part 2, yes. This game has so much potential And I would rather play itthan80 percent of games released today.
I enjoyed the game. However there was a glitch that irritated me through the whole game. It randomly locks up as your traveling through the stars and does nothing ship never lands. Which made me extremely mad when I was working on the travel to all places achievement. Constantly having to save, so not to start over. Ship building was pretty fun. It did feel like it was trying to be a Mass effect game the more I played, or maybe even Destiny.
Disappointing. That’s it. It just isn’t captivating in the way former Bethesda titles were. I got bored within the first 9 hours and genuinely couldn’t bring myself to care about any of it.
