After 5 years of silence, Aiko's Choice is not only an excellent example of how to revive a game with DLC content, but also how to attract new players.
Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun was one of my favorite games of 2017, and Aiko’s Choice is a return to form. Mimimi Games continues to deliver tight gameplay, incredible stealth, and a compelling story to tie it all together.

Another installment of the extremely enjoyable Shadow Tactics game. This one was wayyy easier!
In the original shadow tactics (original) I actually got stuck in a few missions. And each mission would take a very long time to complete. This one was much easier. Didn't get stuck. Finished every mission within 45 minutes X 5 missions.
The last mission, 6th mission, is actually an Epilogue. You run around and interact with characters.
In this expansion I noticed that in every mission I used all characters equally.
Overall I absolutely loved it and I would give both games a rating of 10.

After playing through Blades of the Shogun and Desperados 3 I was hyped when I heard about the Stand Alone "Spin Off" Aiko's Choice. I'm just through it and I have to admit- it feels and plays just as wonderfully as the Main Game of 2016. The Sound and Voice Acting is brillant, like a Hollywood Movie just as the game design. Anyways, I wonder whether I became better or that this game is less difficult than the others as I also (re)played it on hard mode? It's indeed shorter but for that it's well priced. Without any spoilers- it's also moving :')
I'd buy anything Mimimi brings out. Thanks for another amazing game, you people ROCK!

Shadow Tactics: Aiko’s Choice is a good game for a very specific audience. Fans will need to be both interested in character-driven stealth-action sequences and in the universe that the first game in the series has established. Taking down a complex enemy setup with careful planning and timing is challenging and satisfying at the same time.
It’s just three new missions without new characters or gameplay mechanics (well, with one small exception). They’re interesting, they’re difficult, graphics, music and voice acting are top-notch, – but Aiko’s Choice is still too small to be sold as a standalone game. [Issue#258, p.54]
While only six hours long, this is a great addition to the original Shadow Tactics. Varied missions, likeable characters and plenty of tactical puzzles make Aiko's Choice an easy recommendation, especially if you enjoyed the main game and don't expect anything drastically new. Because sometimes 'more of the same' is exactly what we need.
With Aiko's Choice, Mimimi delivers a good extension for Shadow Tactics with three neat missions that offer us a challenge strong enough to exploit all the mechanics set up. On the other hand, there is nothing new in terms of gameplay. This makes it more of a pack of additional missions. That said, the care given to the missions and the richness of the tactical situations allows once again to rack your brains in this excellent infiltration game that is Shadow Tactics.
A valid excuse to return to the beautiful world of Shadow Tactics while providing fresh challenges in vast maps, Aiko’s Choice is an expansion that doesn’t change much from the original but offers a new story and a shorter playtime for those trying Shadow Tactics for the first time. Each level continues to be a satisfying puzzle box to strip apart and overcome.

Tolle Ergänzung zu dem Hauptspiel. Was mir sogar mehr Spaß gemacht hat als das Hauptspiel, da meiste Zeit alle Charaktere zur Verfügung standen und somit ein breites Portfolio an Skills. Dazu kommen noch die tieferen Charakter Zeichnung durch die vielen Zwischensequenzen. Daher, wer das Hautspiel mochte wird dieses DLC lieben.

A decent continuation of Blades of the Shogun, despite the lack of new mechanics. The extra maps (three major ones) are well designed and interesting, and the mechanics from the main game were in such a sweet spot that nothing more was really needed. It's not groundbreaking - just more of the same good old stuff.

Shadow Tactics: Aiko's Choice sin duda gustará a los que nos quedamos con ganas de más Shadow Tactics. Tres nuevas misiones con un par de miniescenas adicionales que cuentan una historia entretenida. Pocas novedades en jugabilidad, eso si, y si (como yo) te acabas de terminar el juego base probablemente te parezcan un poco fáciles, después del pico de dificultad de las últimas misiones del básico. Pero, aún con todo, es una expansión que vale la pena. Eso si, probablemente no a precio completo, 20 € por tres misiones a mi personalmente me parece caro. Un 6.

Really bad game. You only have 3 enemies in the entire game (stupid soldier with gun that can be manipulated, smart soldier(can't be manipulated) and the samurai who is the badass and can't be killed that easy except certain ways. There is no match to Desperados - Dead or Alive from 2001. It seems the developers are very lazy to do new things. I would like to see more variety in how you play the game not just 3 plans on how to take down each enemy. After couple of minutes of game play you notice exactly how lazy the game feels. Not recommended !
