Deceive Inc. strives to distinguish itself from the mass of competitive multiplayer with a more stealth approach. The formula is successful and the matches are a lot of fun, however more content and a premium season need to be added to offer the same variety as the kings of this genre do: the premise is great, but only time and players interest will determine the game's success.
Easily the most inspired FPS out this year. Developers show great promise and understanding of things that their game needs, adding crouch exhaustion and jump inertia mechanics in the first two patches. Battlepass system is great, and isn't predatory FOMO like most other battle passes in games. You can make progress towards any pass you want even if they add a new one. Their first two balance passes were fantastic and changed the game for the better significantly. I've played almost 700 rounds and only have had maybe 5-6 games where I've been suspicious of hackers, which for a PC game is incredible.
Soundtrack is goated, I wish it was available for purchase, I've only found rips on youtube.
Honestly, I can't say I've had a gaming experience similar to Deceive Inc.'s before.
I discover something different every time I play. The innovative gameplay in the game is quite different from other games. By choosing one **** of agents, you have a fun game experience by taking on different roles, disguising and trying to follow each other's movements to seize a package.
Getting the result by collecting evidence in the game and not being seen by other players while doing this increases the fun and expectation in the game. You can take advantage of yourself by using various tools.
Most importantly, the fact that the theme of the game is between the 60s and 80s creates incredible excitement. Both the music, the atmosphere, the characters and the behaviour of the characters, and the tools we use always reflect the era. At least we can see what it would be like if the technology was advanced.
I can clearly say that it is a game where you can have very enjoyable moments both alone and with your friends.
Deceive Inc. is a fantastic multiplayer game hamstrung with confusing progression and some minor annoyances that people who vibe with this spy-’em-up won’t mind a bit.
Despite its bugs, Deceive Inc. is fun enough that I immediately started asking my friends to play with me. Nobody has taken the bait yet so I haven’t tried the multiplayer mode, but solo mode is fun enough that it’s tiding me over. Here’s hoping that the game fixes its many bugs quickly, because there’s plenty else to love about this game as long as they build on the base they’ve started with.
Outside of some bugs, Deceive Inc. is a multiplayer game like few others right now and it's a refreshing change of pace from the usual deathmatch shooter. It's creative, both visually and conceptually, and something worth watching, because its best days may be ahead of it.
Deceive Inc. will live and die by its player base and so far, it's not doing too hot. It's a shame, too, since I'm such a fan of what the game has going on mechanically. The thing that's ruining the experience for me is something that's not technically a failure of any of the game's mechanics, but rather, a failure of those playing the game to grasp its concepts. Unfortunately, it seems like when you give players guns, they're inclined to shoot them regardless of whether or not it's in line with their objectives. Because of this, however, so much of my time with Deceive Inc. was spent in frustrating matches that stood in direct opposition to what I found enjoyable about the experience.
For a niche indie title, packing it full of premium currencies and excessive monetisation leaves a sour taste.
Hopefully the Devs can realise their mistake and not go down the tried and tested live service path to obscurity/free to play/shut down.
The game is based on a great idea and the AD is great too. There are many issues with the multiplayer part though. Solo lobbies are actually a mix of teams and solo players, which make it unfair for solo players. The game seems very easy to hack as there are many cheaters. Some people know you're a spy and not a bot even after a few seconds of playtime. Others just don't take any damage or move really fast. The game can't be played until this is fixed.
So bad, this game has the worst community I've ever seen, those who play are sick, new and medium players don't have a chance to play with trash people, it's not sustainable. This game won't survive much longer with Epic Games' giveaway, 2 weeks...that's all, and have to many cheaters dude wtf. Bull s***.
